Schools Attuned

The entire teaching staff at St. Joseph School has been trained in Mel Levine’s Schools Attuned program. “Children vary widely in their neurodevelopment strengths and weaknesses, and this variation has powerful implications for educating all kinds of minds.”  We strive to recognize and empower the students to understand their own strengths and weaknesses, and to use their strengths to remediate their weaknesses.  We recognize 8 constructs of learning; Attention, Temporal-Sequential Ordering, Spatial Ordering, Memory, neuromotor Functions, social Cognition, and Higher Order Cognition.  In 4th grade we concentrate on teaching the student about Temporal-Sequential and Spatial Ordering.
